Omniture to be Acquired by Adobe

Adobe, the leader in design softwares gave a surprise when it announced about its acquisition of Omniture. The transaction is valued at $1.8 billion.

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Omniture, Inc. (Nasdaq:OMTR) today announced the two companies have entered into a definitive agreement for Adobe to acquire Omniture in a transaction valued at approximately $1.8 billion on a fully diluted equity-value basis. 7 Common Omniture Implementation Mistakes

  1. SiteCatalyst inside Head Tag
    If the Site Catalyst code is placed inside he head tags, an image request would not be sent. The Site Catalyst code should always be pasted inside the body section. Another tip to overcome this issue is including the code inside the footer section of a template.

Event Tracking

Google Analytics has introduced a new feature called Event Tracking which can track interactions with Web 2.0 style content.

The new feature from Google can help you analyze interactions with AJAX, Silverlight, Flash, Adobe Air and other social networking applications.

To use this feature, you have to update your current JavaScript with the new JavaScript provided by Google [ga.js]. The code is available inside the profile settings. The page can be reached by clicking on the “Check Status” next to your website name.

Once the new code is set up, log in to your Google Analytics account, choose the profile you wish to analyze and you would find a new option “Event Tracking” on the Content section area. However, this should be a beta release as the report is available only for select profiles. Google claims that this feature takes a webmaster to a higher level of analysis way beyond a page view report.

Google Analytics Processing Delay

Google has informed that it has experienced a data processing error from April 30th to May 5th. This has resulted in data loss which Google states would recover most of them.

Logging on to Google Analytics, one could find the below notice:

“System Message: Analytics Processing Delay from April 30th to May 5th

Google Analytics experienced a data processing error from April 30th to May 5th. Almost all of the data has been recovered and is currently being reprocessed. The recovered data will be reflected in your reports within a few days. Please note that a small percentage of data, particularly in the area of e-commerce reporting, was not recoverable from those dates.

We sincerely apologize for this processing issue and are taking every precaution to prevent such disruptions from occurring again in the future. For more information, please read through our common questions.

The words “Almost all of the data has been recovered” bring in a debate for certain amount of data loss which cannot be retrieved and is lost for ever. Also, it is strange to find the message after almost 10 days of its occurrence.

Bloggers debate that the message has been put up after speculations from webmasters increased among forums and other discussion boards.

Google Analytics AIR provides more features and a better GUI with user-friendly menus and options. The profile manager section provides easy changeable options to multiple accounts. Google Analytics Beta Day Week Month Graph

Comparing month to month or week to week has never been easier, thanks to Google Analytics new feature to view analytical data daily, weekly or monthly.

Google Analytics has come up with a new beta version of viewing graphs daily (regular view), weekly and monthly. This new beta version has been appearing from the last week.

Clicking on “Week” or “Month” would display the graph Weekly or Monthly showing statistics from one week to another or one month to another. Google Analytics calculates the total number of visits and makes an average for a week or month depending on the option we choose.

Webmasters have mentioned that this option has been really helpful, especially when they have their website analytical data for years.

Google has come up with a new data sharing policy for its Google Analytics and other Google service users.
